Covering over a half million square meters, Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) is the third and newest container terminal at Jeddah Islamic port (JIP), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's most significant port.

Located at the northern end the two billion Saudi Riyal (approx USD 510M) Greenfield container-terminal, will signal the start of a new era for JIP as a regional container hub, increasing its capacity by over 1.8 million TEU's annually.

RSGT promising operational efficiency, optimal cargo movement and increased capacity adds to the existing port another four berths, serviced by best-in-class port equipment and technology, as well as a dedicated deep-water channel able to accommodate the next generation containerships 13,000 TEU+ used solely by vessels calling at the world class terminal.

Together with Tusdeer, the adjacent Bonded & Re-export zone, this RSGT will create an integrated logistics hub for the Red Sea.

The completion of the first phase and start of commercial operations was celebrated with the arrival of UASC's Vessel Al Muttanabi at the terminal on 22 December 2009. Full operations scheduled by Q4 2010.

Since inception, RSGT has embraced its brief to build a modern and sustainable container terminal for the global marketplace, and the redefinition of the port industry in Saudi Arabia. Construction-wise, the terminal took the lead in implementing the highest safety and environmental standards ensuring compliance with global best practices. The facilities were designed according to seismic buildings code, using IP cement and huge concrete blocks (500 tons) in the construction of marine berths as well as quay wall to participate with efforts for reducing global warming. |

A $510m Greenfield facility and subsidiary of SISCO (Saudi Industrial Services Company ) one of the kingdom prominent companies undertaking large scale capital investment in key projects within the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, RSGT was constructed under a BOT with the Saudi Sea Port Authority. |
